Bluegrass & Brunch: New Sunday brunches in Hell’s Kitchen and Cobble Hill

The long-running Sunday Bluegrass Brunch at Nolita House ended in May, but the band Fresh Baked Bluegrass, featuring Doug Hatt, Diane Stockwell, Jason Sypher and guests such as Jen Larson, Demolition String Band’s Boo Reiners, have picked up again at a new location.

Southern Hospitality-Hell’s Kitchen is located at 465 Ninth Avenue at 45 Street in Manhattan. Brunch opens at noon and music goes from 12:45 till 3:45. Contact Doug Hatt at doug.hatt@gmail.com for more details or to learn about playing with the band.

If you prefer to stay in Brooklyn for your bluegrass brunch, check out Van Horn’s Sandwich Shop, located at 231 Court Street near Warren. Every week, different bands drop in to play. So far, bands have included Kings County Strings, Fresh Baked Bluegrass and Tommy Feeley and Friends. Hours are 12 till 3 and the food is phenomenal and affordable.  Contact Doug Hatt to learn how your band can play.
