Tonight at Jalopy there is a great lineup- $15 all night:
pm- Pat Conte, a long-time leader in traditional music in New York, is best known for co-hosting The Secret Museum of the Air with Citizen Kafka, and for his bands The Otis Brothers and the Cane Brake Rattlers.
pm- Ari Eisinger is one of the most dazzling country blues and ragtime guitarists playing today. Listen to his astonishing performances of the music of Blind Blake and you will hear things no guitar player has managed to pull off since Blake himself disappeared in the early 1930s.
pm- The East River String Band are a duo that play rural country blues and popular music of the late 1920s and early 30s. They try to keep alive the rural music tradition that existed before the Great Depression of the 1930s.
pm- The Little Brothers play country blues and old-time music from a time when giant bluesmen roamed the earth. Kim Basile specializes in classic blues fiddle, and some unusual traditional styles that are unique in the music revival. Frankie Basile is a master of country blues stylings on the 6 and 12 string guitar. Mike Hoffmann completes the trio with an array of stolen mandolins and stolen tunes.
