Tiny Desk Concerts is a series that pulls some amazing musicians into the NPR offices and gets them to record a concert at the desk of All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen.
UPDATED: Also from NPR, Pokey LaFarge’s concert from the 2010 Newport Folk Festival. I’m always amazed at just how good NPR’s music section is. Not only do they have a huge variety of bands that they feature, but they really make it access the music. Well done.
Big Night at Southpaw October 16th- Paleface, Two Man Gentlemen Band, Pokey LaFarge
Paleface (Set time 10:00 pm)
Park Slope’s Southpaw presents the Two Man Gentlemen Band along with ragtime blues and riverboat kings Pokey LaFarge for a CD release celebration for the new album from Paleface on October 16th. After opening for the Avett Brothers on October 13th at Radio City Music Hall, Paleface should be in good spirits. Also playing is Chris Cubeta and the Liars Club.
