Bluegrass in New York

On Wednesday, August 18th, Jalopy’s weekly Roots ‘n’ Ruckus takes to the waves on board the Mary A. Whalen at Pier 11 in Red Hook.  They’ve put quite the show together for this field trip- the Two Man Gentlemen Band will headline, along with Brooklyn faves Mamie Minch and Dayna Kurtz, pianist Stephanie Nilles, and Feral Foster. When is the last time you got to see a show on a 2,800 square foot cargo ship? More info at the Pier 11 website, including directions.  This should be a fine Brooklyn night- you poor Manhattan folk can probably get to this venue via the Ikea water taxi.
