Shows, Shows, Shows….

Here are some shows you should try to check out in April:

SMOKEY’S ROUNDUP

On Saturday, April 9th at 10 pm you can catch a great regular gig at Barbes Brooklyn.  Smokey Hormel is probably best known for his works with Beck, Tom Waits and his Brazilian project with Miho Hatori. He’s also been playing western swing for timequite some and his new project is inspired by the sounds of Milton Brown and his musical brownies and other Western Swing classics. 

COWBOY JACK CLEMENT

Friday, April 22 at 7:30 PM at Joe’s Pub you can hear Cowboy Jack Clement, nothing short of a legend whose influence has spread over a half-century of American music.

AN EVENING WITH DOM FLEMONS

Thursday, April 28 at 8 pm Southpaw and BrooklynCountry.com is proud to host Dom Flemons of Carolina Chocolate Drops, recipients of this year’s Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album with for album “Genuine Negro Jig”. The show will also feature performances by the Newton Gang, Five Deadly Venoms leader Elio Schiavo, Jalopy supergroup The Whiskey Spitters, and Gangstagrass.

With Smokey Hormel vocals and guitar; Charley Burnham - fiddle; Tim Luntzel - string bass; Andrew Burger - Drums. Smokey plays Barbes at 10 pm on Friday, February 11th.
