Brooklyn Country presents an awesome night of Bluegrass at Southpaw, featuring Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, Six Deadly Venoms and The Birdhive Boys. This will be the very last night at this storied Brooklyn venue, which is closing to make way for more baby-friendly Slope amenities.

Alex Battles is promoting his NYC Opry at Brooklyn’s Southpaw. The show will feature Battles’ own band, the Whisky Rebellion, along with Hilary Hawke & The Flipsides and JP and the Gilberts. The show is May 19th.

Brilliant Brooklyn Rockabilly. You can catch these chaps playing at Jalopy on Saturday, February 26th or at Southpaw on March 12th.

Singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, ethnomusicologist, three-time Grammy-winner, world-class musical collaborator, musicians’ advocate, world traveler, fisherman, or cigar aficionado. Taj Mahal plays Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday, April 10th at 8 pm.

These young ladies do great two part harmonies and sing some old favorites. They have a few gigs coming up, including Friday, March 11th from 6 pm at National Underground, and then again Thursday, March 25th at 8:30 pm at Jalopy.
Austin based trio Hot Club of Cowtown plays acoustic-powered, string-band music that mixes western swing with the hot jazz of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. They are at Joe’s Pub on Monday, March 28 at 7:30 PM.

Paleface (Set time 10:00 pm)
Park Slope’s Southpaw presents the Two Man Gentlemen Band along with ragtime blues and riverboat kings Pokey LaFarge for a CD release celebration for the new album from Paleface on October 16th. After opening for the Avett Brothers on October 13th at Radio City Music Hall, Paleface should be in good spirits. Also playing is Chris Cubeta and the Liars Club.
